In June 2024, Shelter Lea presented its accommodation and shelter service for women and children victims of violence at Hotel Princess in Bar.

The aim of the presentation was to introduce the public and relevant stakeholders to the importance of shelter services, the support available to women and children victims of violence, and the need to continuously strengthen the system of protection against domestic and gender-based violence.

The event brought together representatives of institutions and organisations working in the field of protection against gender-based and domestic violence. Speakers included Jovana Radifković, Head of the Directorate for the Protection against Gender-Based Violence and Domestic Violence at the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare; Tanja Spičanović, Vice-President of the Municipality of Bar; Maja Raičević, Executive Director of the Centre for Women's Rights; Jovana Mirković, Manager of SŽK Podgorica; and Emilija Jukić, representative of Shelter Lea.

“We must have zero tolerance for any form of violence. Stopping violence is the responsibility of all of us!” said Emilija Jukić.

As part of the presentation, a short film was shown within the project “Sigurna žena – jaka porodica” (“A Safe Woman – A Strong Family”), supported by the Municipality of Bar.

Mirjana Spaić, Luka Jukić and Luka Stanković appeared in front of the camera, while Lazar Šoljaga was behind the camera. The film was directed by Blažo Marković.
