A small community. A loud response.
From a small community we spark big changes - we speak out loudly against violence and fight for the right of every woman and every child to safety, dignity and a life free from violence.
Our voice is the voice of women who have survived violence, and our resistance is resolute: violence is not a private matter but a social problem we must all respond to!
Support our work →women experience some form of violence at the hands of an intimate partner
is the average time it takes a woman to gather the strength to report violence
of murders of women are committed by a partner or a family member
of women who have experienced violence have never sought help
How change happens
Through educational activities, public campaigns and cooperation with institutions and the local community, the NU LEA association actively contributes to building a safer and more just society. At the same time, we work continuously on raising public awareness of the importance of preventing violence, protecting human rights and advancing gender equality.
Support for women and children
We provide a free specialised shelter and accommodation service for women and children who are victims of violence, free psychosocial support, legal counselling and referrals.
Empowering survivors
On the path out of the vicious cycle of violence and towards building an independent and dignified life; providing the service of a person of trust.
Working with the community
Through education and training on recognising and responding to violence, we raise awareness in the community.
A community free of violence
We build a culture of non-violence, respect and safety for all. Report violence. You are not alone — we are here to hear you, support you and protect you.
Projects
We run our projects independently and in collaboration with partner organisations, responding to the real needs of women and girls in our community. Every project starts from the same question: what do women and girls need to live safer, freer and more equal lives?
Paint activism!
“Paint Activism!” is a project focused on empowering women and girls through art, creative expression, and psychosocial support. Through painting and art workshops, participants are provided with a safe space to express their emotions, process personal experiences, and strengthen their self-confidence and solidarity.

Step by Step – Through Psychotherapy to Empowerment and Reintegration
“Step by Step – Through Psychotherapy to Empowerment and Reintegration” is a project aimed at providing free psychotherapy and psychosocial support to women survivors of violence. The project addresses the lack of accessible and specialized mental health services, particularly in the southern region of Montenegro, where the cost of psychotherapy represents a significant barrier to recovery.

eTolerancija
eTolerancija is an initiative focused on the prevention and combating of digital violence, with a particular focus on young people and creating a safer and more tolerant digital environment in Montenegro. Through educational lectures, public events, the #netTolerancija campaign, and cooperation with representatives of institutions, civil society, and the community, the project raises awareness of different forms of digital violence, its consequences, and ways of preventing it.
