At the invitation of the Centre for Social Work Bar, representatives of the Shelter for women and children victims of domestic violence Lea Bar participated in a work meeting with representatives of the Centre for Social Work Bar, aimed at strengthening intersectoral cooperation and improving the system for the protection of women and children who are victims of domestic violence.
The meeting was attended by the Director of the Centre for Social Work, Elisa Berbo, together with professional staff from the Department for Children and Youth and the Department for Adults and Older Persons. On behalf of NGO Lea, the discussion was attended by Executive Director Emilija Jukić and representatives of the organisation.
The focus was on strengthening intersectoral cooperation and developing an even more effective protection system for the most vulnerable members of our community. The discussion covered:
- A multidisciplinary approach to providing care and support to victims of domestic violence.
- Coordinating procedures between our services and the shelter’s professional team to ensure a prompt and appropriate response.
- Long-term plans for the empowerment and reintegration of women and children following their stay at the shelter.
We would like to thank the Centre for Social Work Bar for the invitation, its openness to cooperation, and its commitment to improving the protection system. We believe that through joint action, we can contribute to building a more effective and accountable support system for women and children who are victims of violence, as well as a society with zero tolerance for violence.
