The innovative art-therapy workshop "SILENT REVOLUTION," dedicated to shelter users, was successfully held in Bar. This activity was realized as part of the "Paint Activism!" project, implemented by the NGO Shelter for Women and Children Victims of Violence Lea, with the financial support of the Municipality of Bar.The project was launched as a direct response to the lack of innovative women's empowerment programs and the low visibility of women's activism at the local level. In contrast to traditional, often passive workshop models that place participants in the role of observers, "SILENT REVOLUTION" offered a completely different, active approach by utilizing art as a therapeutic tool.During the workshop, participants worked in a safe and supportive environment with professionals, including psychologists, social workers, and academic painters. By combining non-institutional education, fine arts, and elements of Montenegrin culture, a space was created where sketches and colors became a means of communication. According to the latest research, this model represents an easier and more natural pathway to confront repressed negative emotions and process traumatic experiences. The main goal of this initiative is to build self-esteem, boost personal capacities, and foster mutual solidarity among women and girls, with a special focus on vulnerable groups such as victims of violence and members of minority communities. Through the creative process of painting workshops, art takes on a deep therapeutic effect that directly contributes to more stable mental health and empowers women to take concrete steps in their lives.
