Representatives of NGO Lea participated in a national training programme organised by the Safe Women’s House Podgorica, with the aim of enhancing the knowledge, skills and capacities of civil society representatives working with young people and local communities.
As part of the programme, four three-day national training sessions were delivered, focusing on topics of particular importance for building an equal, inclusive and empowered society:
- Gender Equality and Non-Discrimination – focusing on understanding gender equality, recognising discrimination, promoting equal opportunities and fostering a culture of respect for human rights;
- Peer Education – aimed at developing competencies for working with young people and using the peer education approach as an effective model for education, support and youth empowerment;
- Social and Financial Education – focused on developing knowledge and skills that enable young people to make more responsible decisions, participate more actively in society and better understand financial independence;
- Strengthening the Capacities of Civil Society Organisations – aimed at improving organisational, communication and other capacities necessary for effective and sustainable work of civil society organisations.
Each training lasted three days, providing participants with an opportunity to enhance their knowledge and competencies through interactive learning methods, exchange of experiences and practical exercises. Upon completion of all training sessions, representatives of NGO Lea received certificates, confirming their successful participation and completion of the national training programme.
The programme is particularly valuable because of its knowledge-transfer approach from the national to the local level. The knowledge, methodologies and experience gained will be further shared by the organisation through the organisation and delivery of local training sessions in Bar, intended for young people, civil society representatives and other members of the local community.
