As part of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign, Shelter Lea organised a round table entitled “Nasilje u porodici – lokalne inicijative” (“Domestic Violence – Local Initiatives”), as part of the project “Sigurna žena – jaka porodica” (“A Safe Woman – A Strong Family”), supported by the Municipality of Bar.

Representatives of relevant institutions working on the issue of domestic violence attended the meeting, including the Basic Court in Bar, the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Bar, the Centre for Social Work Bar, the Red Cross of Bar, the Security Department in Bar, representatives of the Municipality of Bar, as well as representatives of civil society organisations.

The aim of the meeting was to improve cooperation and exchange experiences among institutions and organisations providing support to victims of violence.

The meeting was particularly important because it provided an opportunity for an open discussion about the challenges faced by institutions and organisations in practice, as well as possible ways to improve the local protection system.

Coordinated action by all stakeholders is essential for ensuring more effective protection of women and children and creating a safer environment for survivors of violence.
