Our representatives – psychologist Anđela Jukić and social worker Katica Kovač – spoke on the programme “NVO Impulsi” about the work of the Shelter for women and children victims of domestic violence, their experiences during its first months of operation, and the importance of providing support to victims.

Anđela Jukić spoke about the experiences from the Shelter’s first month of operation and noted that a large number of women had reached out for help. As she explained, women are provided with psychological support and professional advice, as well as practical assistance in reporting violence and contacting the relevant institutions.

Katica Kovač presented the way the Shelter operates. Located at a confidential location, the Shelter can accommodate up to eight people. It provides safe temporary accommodation for women and children in emergency situations, along with risk assessments, individual protection plans, and support in finding a long-term solution.

During the programme, our representatives also discussed different forms of violence – from physical to psychological, emotional, and sexual violence – emphasizing the importance of recognizing violence in time and seeking support.

Particular attention was given to children growing up in violent environments, as well as the need for institutions and organizations to work together to ensure victims have access to safety, support, and a path towards a life free from violence.

Women can contact the Shelter directly at 068/692-231, as well as through the Centre for Social Work or the police.
