Anđela Jukić, a psychologist and Coordinator of Shelter Lea, spoke at the panel discussion “Udruženo protiv rodno zasnovanog nasilja” (“United Against Gender-Based Violence”).
The discussion presented experiences from direct work with women and children victims of violence, with particular emphasis on the importance of psychological support, women's empowerment and creating a safe space where survivors can receive protection and support.
Activists and professionals from non-governmental organisations working in the field of gender-based violence highlighted the importance of the civil society sector and the need for stronger cooperation among all stakeholders providing support to survivors.
Events of this kind provide an important space for sharing experiences, identifying challenges in practice and jointly seeking solutions to improve the protection system.
